Henry “Butch” Dougherty

Member, Construction Manager

Butch is a partner at B+A Architecture and has more than 46 years of experience in architectural practice. He is responsible for managing the office and building strong relationships with clients to bring their ideas and goals to fruition. Butch graduated from Kansas State University in 1977 with a bachelor’s degree in architecture and is licensed to practice in both Missouri and Kansas. He is passionate about mentoring young architects and employees and loves seeing the excitement on clients’ faces during design presentations. 

Beyond his work at B+A Architecture, Butch is a dedicated advocate for people with disabilities and youth in the local community. He has held leadership roles for several community organizations, including serving as the past Board Chair of the Rehabilitation Institute of Kansas City and the past President of the Lake Lotawana Optimist Club. He is also an active member of the Rehabilitation Foundation Institute.
